A Camping & Scouting-Inspired Field Trip Experience
Inspired by the adventure of camping and the achievement-based spirit of scouting, Playfarm Kids Adventure Camp turns the traditional school field trip into a full day of hands-on outdoor learning.
Students take on real-life challenges around the farm, caring for animals, riding a horse, conquering the high ropes, catching a fish, completing the obstacle course and mudslide, exploring nature, and creating their own plant pet.
Just like in scouting, children are encouraged to learn by doing and earn recognition for what they accomplish. Along the way, they collect Adventure Badges by completing challenges, learning new skills, and trying things for themselves.
A badge might mean they got their hands dirty creating their own plant pet, developed the patience to catch a fish, conquered their fears with the high ropes challenge, or learned how to care for an animal.

FARM ACTIVITIES

ANIMAL FEEDING
Caring for animals is one of the simplest ways for children to learn stewardship.
At the Animal Feeding Station, children get up close with our farm animals as they learn what they eat, how to feed them properly, and how to approach them with care and gentleness.
More than just the excitement of feeding an animal, the experience teaches children that animals are living creatures that depend on us for care and respect. It is a simple, hands-on lesson in responsibility, nurturing, and compassion.

GO FISHING
Fishing is the art of patience. Thereās something incredibly rewarding about baiting your own hook, waiting for that perfect moment, and finally feeling a tug on the line!
Often an understated outdoor activity, fishing teaches patience, focus, independence, and perseverance, while giving kids the exhilarating experience of making their very own catch.

HIGH ROPES
High Ropes is much like an obstacle course, only this time, the challenges are up in the air. Children climb, cross, and balance their way through different obstacles while safely harnessed throughout the course.
What makes High Ropes special is the fear factor. Being several feet off the ground can be intimidating, and finding the courage to continue despite that fear makes reaching the end incredibly rewarding.
It teaches children that being brave doesnāt mean not being afraid. It means having the courage to try anyway.

PLANT PET (KOKEDAMA)
Time to touch the soil & create something that grows! Kokedama is the Japanese art of growing a plant in a ball of soil wrapped in soft green moss. āKokeā means moss and ādamaā means ball.
Young minds create their own Kokedama from scratch while learning about plants, soil, roots, and proper plant care. Best of all, they get to take home their very own living creation.

OBSTACLE COURSE WARRIOR
Our Obstacle Course is customized according to the age range of the participants, with challenges that get children climbing, crawling, balancing, jumping, and finding their way through each obstacle.
The course is intentionally designed to be challenging enough, not too easy, because overcoming something difficult is where children begin to build grit, resilience, confidence, and character.
More importantly, it gives children an opportunity to connect, literally and figuratively. They hold hands, help each other up, cheer their friends on, and discover how much easier a challenge can feel when you tackle it together.

THE MUDSLIDE!!!
The Mudslide is all about overcoming that first moment of hesitation: āDo I really want to go down there?ā Then comes the courage to try, the thrill of sliding through the mud, and usually, the immediate request to do it all over again!
Beyond the laughter and mess, it encourages children to step outside their comfort zone, let go of being overly careful, and experience outdoor play in its most carefree form.
Sometimes adventure means getting a little messy and discovering just how much fun is waiting on the other side.

HORSE-BACK RIDING
Horseback riding gives young riders the chance to connect with these magnificent animals while learning confidence, balance, trust, and respect.
Our Horse Marshals are available to assist each child throughout their journey. From approaching the horse to taking the reins, itās an unforgettable hands-on experience that inspires both courage and adventure.

SāMORES MAKING
Sāmores Making may seem simple, but itās surprisingly an experience many children have never actually done for themselves. We often take for granted the little skills behind making a sāmore.
Children learn to handle a roasting stick, patiently toast their own marshmallow, and safely work around a real campfire with the guidance of our Adventure Marshals. And of course, the best part is getting to eat what they made!
Itās a classic camp experience that brings together patience, independence, and the simple joy of eating what you made yourself.

ATV TRAXX (Optional)
Get ready for a little adrenaline rush! Children ride the ATV with an adult as they navigate Playfarmās outdoor trail, experiencing the bumps, turns, and excitement of an off-road adventure.
Itās a thrilling way to experience the outdoors, combining exploration, excitement, and just the right dose of adventure.

RIVER TREKKING (Optional)
Young adventurers trek along the river, navigating rocks, shallow waters, and natural terrain as they explore a side of the outdoors they donāt experience every day.
The uneven and unpredictable trail makes every step part of the adventure, building balance, confidence, resilience, and an appreciation for nature along the way.
PLAYFARM ADVENTURE GUIDE & LOG BOOK

As part of the Playfarm Kids Adventure Camp experience, every child receives an Adventure Logbook designed to extend the learning beyond each activity.
We can collaborate with your schoolās educators to customize the Logbook according to your studentsā learning goals, grade level, and curriculum. Activities, reflection questions, drawing and discovery pages can be customized for each school, and the school logo can be incorporated into the Logbook for a truly customized field trip experience.
Throughout the day, students can record discoveries, complete activities, reflect on what they learned, and keep track of the challenges they conquered and Adventure Pins they earned.
At the end of the day, the Logbook becomes a personal keepsake of their Playfarm adventure, and a record of learning they can proudly take home.
